Centrica doubles stake in Norway
Scottish Gas owner Centrica has doubled its stake in the Statfjord oil and gas field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea following a £144 million deal to buy interests from Norske Shell and Enterprise Oil.
Centrica, which will hold a 19 per cent stake, said the move increased its gas reserves. It came as it appointed Wolseley boss Ian Meakins as a non-executive director.
