Crowd backs Parkure seeking cure for Parkinson’s
Parkure, which is researching a cure using fruit flies, raised more than £75,000 on the Edinburgh-based funding site, which focuses on technology companies.
It will receive match funding from the Scottish Government through a Smart Scotland grant awarded in December, while chief executive Lysimachos Zografos has also been awarded an RSE Enterprise Fellowship.

Parkure said it opted to use equity crowdfunding to raise finance because traditional sources of funding are often reluctant to back drug discovery ventures at their early stages.
