Dunedin recruiting amid 'investment opportunities'

DUNEDIN, the Scottish mid-market private equity firm, is expanding its operations.

Chief executive Ross Marshall said the company, which recently financed a 55 million buyout of Inverness crane hire firm Weldex, is seeking new opportunities for investment.

It has taken on a new member of staff at its Edinburgh headquarters and announced it is moving to larger premises in St James's in London.

Marshall said: "Having recently completed the all equity buyout of Weldex in only three weeks, we believe that there will be good deals to be done by private equity houses which can move fast.

"Consequently, we are strengthening our team to ensure that we can move as quickly as necessary."

Jamie Moodie has been recruited to the Edinburgh office, moving from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he specialised in corporate recovery.

Marshall added: "Dunedin is in great shape as we emerge from the recession. This is the result of a lot of hard work to protect and build value in our portfolio and we are now seeing the fruits of those labours. We are aggressively seeking new investment opportunities and need additional resource as deal activity picks up."

The company has previously invested in Goals Soccer Centres and Letts diaries.
