Man remanded in custody on murder charge following Arbroath death
A 41-year-old appeared in court on Friday charged with murder following the death of a man in Angus.
Frankie Melvin, 34, died following an incident at a property in Spitalfield Place, Arbroath, on Wednesday.

Hide AdJackie Doig, of Dundee, appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court and was charged with murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
The family of Mr Melvin have paid tribute to him, saying: “Frankie was a much-loved son, father, brother, partner and uncle. His loss will be sorely felt by many.
“We would ask that we are given privacy to come to terms with his loss at this time.”
Detective Inspector Allan Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the family of Mr Melvin at this difficult time.”
