Dealer hands over £10,000

A CONVICTED heroin dealer has been forced to hand over nearly £10,000 after being hit with a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

David Steadwood, of Loanhead in Midlothian, pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and was ordered to carry out 160 hours of community service at a court hearing on January 13.

But the 34-year-old was also pursued for assets he acquired through criminality and was ordered to forfeit 9700. Steadwood was caught as part of Operation Evolve, a police crackdown which targeted drug dealers across Midlothian.
