Dogs starved
A vet who examined the Staffordshire bull terrier dog, and a cross collie bitch, owned by Allan Brown said they were the two worst cases of emaciation he had seen in some 30 years of practice.
At Selkirk Sheriff Court yesterday, 21-year-old Brown admitted a charge of causing the animals unnecessary suffering.

Hide AdOfficers from the Scottish SPCA raided Brown's home in Selkirk, where they found the two dogs surrounded by faeces and rubbish.
It was estimated that the dogs had not been fed for a week.
Brown was banned from keeping animals for two years, ordered to sign over the ownership of the collie and to pay 2,428 in kennel costs.
