Grave flowers found in bin
Betty Brand said she discovered the callous act when she visited Saughton Cemetery on Saturday morning – just days before the fourth anniversary of her husband’s death. She and her daughter searched everywhere for the expensive artificial flowers before stumbling upon them in a bin.
“I think it was malicious and I cried when I saw them in the bin. My daughter had tears in her eyes. The people that did this are the lowest of the low.”
A police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders Police are investigating following reports that artificial flowers were stolen from a graveside in Saughton Cemetery.”
