Inquiry to decide transfusion compensation

A HEARING into how scores of Scottish patients were poisoned with HIV and hepatitis C has resumed in Edinburgh.

The Penrose Inquiry will hear more accounts of the scandal, which occurred when blood used in transfusions was taken from prisoners, without being screened for the disease. The incident has left a trail of compensation claims, with this hearing expected to make an impact on how much victims are entitled to demand.

The hearing takes place at the Clydesdale Bank Plaza on Lothian Road.
