M9 slip road to close for resurfacing

THE M9 slip road to Kirkliston will be closed tonight for essential resurfacing.

Often referred to as the M9 spur, the northbound offshoot at junction 1A will be out of action from 8pm until 6am tomorrow.

During that time, work will get under way to repair defects that have developed as a result of the recent cold snap.

A lane closure will also be in place on the northbound M9, prior to the slip road. A diversion will be available north along the M9 to junction 3 Burghmuir, returning south to junction 2 Philpstoun then along the B8046/A904 to the Echline roundabout.

Ian Stewart, Bear Scotland's operating company representative in the south-east, said: "These works are being carried out overnight to minimise delays to motorists. We would, however, encourage them to plan their journeys in advance."
