Global warning
The second was whether he can name a single scientist, anywhere in the world, who supports catastrophic warming and is not ultimately paid by public money. I trust he will not object if I take silence as a negative.

I SEE Tom Ballantine (Letters, 8 September) has not answered the question that GM Lindsay asked previously. This was, how is his organisation going to stop climate chaos in Scotland.

Hide AdPerhaps Mr Ballantine has plans for a Perspex bubble over Scotland to keep any carbon savings to ourselves.
He could close down all transport, industry and airports and the savings made would be cancelled out within a year by China’s increasing emissions.
Scotland has 0.2 per cent of global man-made emissions. Carbon dioxide occurring in nature is 98 per cent and man-made 2 per cent so Scotland has an infinitesimal 0.004 per cent of total emissions.
For this our politicians tax us past the hilt and into fuel poverty through grotesque wind turbine and renewables subsidies, which make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
Yet politicians, especially the SNP, and also Mr Ballantine have the audacity to claim that they are saving the planet.
