Letter: Unwanted Gaelic
On the same day, we have reports that the National Galleries of Scotland, following its draft Gaelic language plan, is to be forced to spend money from its budget on signage in Gaelic as well as in English. Staff will receive "Gaelic awareness training".
All this despite zero demand from a universally English-speaking public, and brought to you by the same crowd who imposed road signs in Gaelic, and Gaelic-medium education in schools.
Gaelic absorbs 25 million of public spending each year, and is ringfenced against cuts.
