Former councillor to become private eye
Stuart McIvor, 67, said he will begin work on gathering intelligence and working on private investigations but decline to go into the exact details of the new role. He voluntarily stood down from his Inverleith seat last week but said he was keen to carry on working.
A former inspector with the Metropolitan Police, who was once involved in royal protection, Mr McIvor is also writing a pantomine for a Christmas group in Sighthill.
He told the Evening News: “I can’t say much but it’s an agency run by a former Met officer and they always need ex-coppers. It’s all very ‘have your passport ready stuff’. I’m looking forward to it.”
