The Republican presidential nominee posted a message on Twitter apparently referencing the UK’s decision to leave the EU: “They will soon be calling me MR. BREXIT!”
Mr Trump is yet to clarify what he meant by the message – but that has not stopped Twitter users from poking fun at him. One person tweeted: “Hate to break it to you but they don’t call you Mr Brexit. They call you that crazy old guy who yells at his own feet.”

Mr Trump has previously weighed in on the UK’s Brexit vote. Speaking immediately after the EU referendum result, Mr Trump predicted the UK would thrive, saying: “This is an amazing place, an amazing country and it’s going to be very successful ultimately.”
But he also predicted the result would spell further disquiet in the EU: “I think it’s going to be in a lot of trouble. I think a lot of other people are going to follow.”
