Peter Strachan appointed Caledonian Sleeper chief
The veteran railman moves from Australia, where he headed two Serco rail bids, in preparation for the firm taking over the Scotland-London overnight train service from FirstGroup next April.

Hide AdStrachan’s previous roles include as running the west coast main line, over which the Sleepers will run, for Network Rail.
He said: “As a Scot, it is a real privilege to have the opportunity to lead the transformation of our iconic Sleeper service.
