Coalition denies trying to fix Lords
THE government has denied “packing” the House of Lords with its own party supporters to ensure the smooth passage of coalition legislation.
Cabinet Office spokesman Lord Wallace of Saltaire assured peers any further appointments would be made in line with the coalition commitment to reflect the share of votes secured by the parties at the last election.
