Death penalty wouldn't have stopped overdose mother

THE mother convicted of murdering her brain-damaged son after giving him a lethal heroin injection said she would have done the same thing even if she had faced the death penalty.

Frances Inglis, 57, was jailed for a minimum of nine years this week after being found guilty of killing her 22-year-old son Tom, who suffered severe head injuries when he fell out of a moving ambulance. Speaking from prison, she said: "Being in prison is nothing compared to what Tom was going through."
