Korean navy ship hit by 'external blast'
AN EXTERNAL explosion probably caused a South Korean navy ship to split and sink three weeks ago, officials said yesterday, leaving open the possibility that a North Korean torpedo or mine may have caused the disaster.
Fifty-eight crew members were rescued from the Cheonan and 38 bodies have been found.
