Charters gets Rebels call
The second row left Hawick earlier this year to experience a year out in the southern hemisphere, linking up with other Borderers in Melbourne. Charters and fellow Teri Graham Scott helped Melbourne Unicorns win the club Premiership and the lock then played his part in Victoria State beating the Australian Services. Now Charters has been picked for the ‘Rebel Rising’ pre-season training.
“It’s only the initial squad but it’s a good opportunity,” he said. “They go on to play the Western Force ‘A’ team in a friendly and then in curtain-raisers before the Melbourne Rebels during the Super 15s.”
