The Ayr striker was banned for six games earlier this season for betting on 150 games, six of which involved Ayr whom he backed to win. Ayr want a reduction in the punishment, citing the case of Rangers’ Ian Black, who received a three-game ban (with seven more suspended) for betting against his own team. The 20-year-old had surgery after breaking a bone in his foot in November but Tynecastle boss Gary Locke is optimistic his prospects of making the first team. Locke said: “Jason has been doing a lot of work with the physio. I’m hopeful he’ll join in with the rest of the boys at some point this week and train with them.
