Hide AdGenk announced on their website that Rangers had now completed a deal for the 21-year-old who is the son of the all-time great Gheorghe Hagi who played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
No fee was given but it is thought Rangers have paid around £4.5 million for the player who scored a double for Rangers in the Europa League win over Braga in February.
Genk said in a statement: “Ianis Hagi (21) definitively switches to Glasgow Rangers. The Scottish club has taken up the purchase option for the attacking midfielder.
“KRC Genk had acquired Hagi from the Romanian Viitorul last summer, but allowed him to leave on a loan basis to Rangers in January.
“We wish Ianis the best of luck in his further career.”
