Hockey: Bunce grabs five goals as Wanderers retain title

Five goals from Vikki Bunce helped VWS Dundee Wanderers to retain the Subway national indoor hockey league after they beat Milne Craig Western 6-4 in the championship showdown at Bell's Sports Centre in Perth.

Meanwhile, Western were held to a 3-3 draw with Grove. The Glasgow side were two up through strikes by Marshall and McGilivray. But Grove took the lead with goals from Susan Hamilton, Leigh Fawcett and Ali Bell, before Cockburn equalised for Western.

In the men's second division CALA Edinburgh are back in the top flight with victories over Harris (8-4), Grove Menzieshill's second string (4-3) and Stepps (5-4) in the promotion play-offs. Menzieshill's reserve side were winners of the second division with a 4-3 victory over Harris, but the Taysiders were not eligible for first division status.
