Hungarian club's crisis prompts McStay exit

WILLIE McStay has quit as manager of Hungarian side Ujpest Dozsa. The former Celtic defender and reserve team coach left Parkhead last summer to take the Ujpest post and brought with him former Hoops youth team coach Joe McBride.

However, amid speculation about financial problems at the club, McStay and McBride are set to return to Scotland. "I have resigned," McStay said. "There are difficulties at the club." Zoltan Kovacs, Ujpest's director of football, told the club's official website: "Willie McStay has resigned from the position of head coach of Ujpest Football Club. Both the club and Willie mutually agreed in an amicable way.

"Joe McBride has also resigned from his position of coach, and Ujpest Football Club would like to thank both Willie McStay and Joe McBride for the hard work and effort that they put into their jobs while at the club.

"Ujpest wish both of them every success in their football careers ahead."
