Rivals' scores are much Edu about nothing

Maurice EDU claims Rangers have no interest in Celtic's results after closing the gap on their rivals to five points, with two games in hand, in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

The Scottish champions cruised to a 4-0 victory over St Johnstone just hours after Celtic's 2-0 loss at Motherwell. Edu, however, insists Rangers do not need to look elsewhere for motivation.

He said: "We were just focused on ourselves. That's all we can do at this point. We can't depend on other results and different games, we can only worry about our own performance. If that game finished 2-0 and we went into our own game and dropped points, it's useless for us. So we can only focus on making sure we are ready to play every game and committed to our own performances."

Nikica Jelavic helped himself to a double and Kyle Lafferty and Sasa Papac were also on the scoresheet against Saints. Edu added: "We showed a good mentality and we looked lively from the start. We got the result that we wanted."
