Wallace Booth on course to pass Dundonald test

Wallace Booth was on course to progress past stage one of the European Tour's qualifying school at Dundonald Links.

The Comrie rookie, who has been out of action since April with a shoulder injury, posted a two-over 74 in the third round of the weather-delayed event for a two-over 218. Booth was sitting in a share of the lead with Irishman Damian Mooney but was unable to complete his fourth and final round due to darkness and was set to return to action this morning. Jack Doherty was heading into his closing round in fourth place on 223 after a 75 while Ayrshireman Graham Fox had moved into the top-ten with a battling 70 for 225. Falkirk's former PGA Cup player Craig Matheson finished on the 226 after a 71 while Mark Kerr (227), Jason McCreadie (229) and Stephen Gray (230) were all inside the qualifying zone heading into their closing rounds. The stage one event at Fleesensee in Germany was also set for a Saturday finish after a number of rain delays.
