Theatre review: OwlTime
It's unclear whether some external force has had a negative impact on this production '“ promised performer Nia Kova is nowhere to be seen '“ but it seems incredibly under-prepared.
Director Charlie Wiseman delivers an improvised stream-of-consciousness ramble touching on the Calais jungle, a refugee named Lysistrata, Virginia Woolf, forced collaboration with the Taliban and a musical about “poop”, all while backed by a juddering series of badly rendered slides. There are good intentions here, but something’s gone deeply wrong.
Until 29 August. Today 8:15pm.
